BSE-Sofia is the only exchange in the region of Southeastern Europe that has developed its own electronic system allowing the end users (investors) to place orders to buy and sell financial instruments that are admitted to trading on the exchange.
COBOS is a unique product of BSE-Sofia, developed by its specialists with the main goal of increasing the efficiency of the trade, attracting more investors by easing the process of placing orders and increasing the liquidity of the market. COBOS was officially launched on 4 March 2003.
The development of the Bulgarian capital market led to a sharp increase in the number of COBOS clients – they rose 10 times in the period 2005-2007. As a result of this the daily-average number of orders placed through COBOS reached more than 70% of all orders placed per day.
